




Tinley
Park is about 20 miles Southwest of Chicago. There are about 53,000
residents. Founded in 1892, the village has expanded dramatically over the
years.
Orland
Hills is a relatively new community (incorporated in 1961). Orland Hills is
conveniently located in between Tinley Park and Orland Park. Orland Hills is
a small community of about 6,800 residents.
Orland
Park is located just 30 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. There are about
53,000 residents in Orland Park. In 1892, the Village was incorporated and
adopted the name 'Orland Park'.
Mokena
has a population of more than 14,500 is the fastest growing community in the
region. Mokena owes its existence largely to the Rock Island Railroad. In
1851 the right-of-way for the railroad was surveyed through Mokena.
Subsequently, the land along the north side of the Rock Island tracks along
Front Street was subdivided and lots were sold for $100.00 each, thus
forming the majority of the original village.
Homer
Glen/Lockport is 35 miles southwest of Downtown Chicago. Transportation to
Downtown is a 50-minute drive. Midway is 40-minutes and O’Hare Airport is
about 65-minutes away.
New
Lenox is located approximately 36 miles southwest of Downtown Chicago. The
Village is about 10 square miles in area and is located in the center of New
Lenox Township in the east central portion of Will County. The City of
Joliet borders immediately to the west, and the remainder of the Village is
surrounded by unincorporated Will County. Other nearby communities include
Mokena and Frankfort to the east and Manhattan to the south
Palos
Park is a small, quiet town, which was incorporated in 1914. The Palos Park
Recreation District offers a full array of sports programs for children and
other activities for residents of all ages.
Palos
Hills is one of the oldest communities in the Chicago Area. At one time it
was the home of the Potawatomi Indian tribe. The first no-native settlers
arrived in the mid 1800s. They were mostly Irish and German immigrant who
came to work on the building of the Illinois-Michigan Canal. Palos Hills was
incorporated in 1958. Population is around 17,800
Palos
Heights is tucked away in more that 14,000 acres of Cook County forest
preserves, 25 miles from the Chicago Loop, this is a quiet, country-like
town. Not incorporated until 1959, Palos Heights is the newest of the Palos
communities
Frankfort
is a community with historic charm. You will find a balance between growth
in development and preservation of our quality rural and rural environment.
Frankfort strives to preserve its 1890’s prairie town charm. Frankfort has a
population of over 14,000.
Once
known as Black Oaks Grove and then called 'Agnes' - after the first
postmaster’s wife - the Village of Oak Lawn was incorporated in 1909.
Located about 14 miles southwest of the Loop.
Lemont
strives to preserve its past, while planning for the future. The village has
experienced a surge in residential growth and business activity in recent
years. Lemont offers fun and recreation to its families. The Lemont Park
District sponsors more than 500 programs and activities appealing to young
and old. Fourteen neighborhood parks with ball fields and playground
equipment and two community centers provide many recreational opportunities.
